History & Statement of Qualifications
BFA is a consulting engineering firm specializing in site planning, engineering and surveying. The company began in 1968 as Frankenberg & Associates and is now known as BFA, Inc. The company initially served as city engineers and consultants for several communities in Mid-Missouri - working with them to develop municipal water and sewer systems, sewage treatment systems, streets and subdivisions. Other services performed for these communities were surveying, design of park facilities, residential engineering and the design of solid waste collection systems. The firm has served as consulting engineers for the Franklin County Highway Department and has been involved with major improvements and renovations of sewage and water systems damaged in severe flooding events. BFA also enjoys a good amount of business with industrial and commercial site development clients. Today, BFA concentrates on providing these services while also being mindful of environmental concerns and regulations by encompassing our design experience and expertise of floodplain management and stormwater pollution prevention into our projects.
The fact that BFA maintains a presence in both, municipal and commercial aspects of civil design, enables BFA to consider and understand multiple viewpoints, giving them the unique ability to negotiate a win-win situation for permitting authorities, as well as the developer or individual they authorize to develop projects.
BFA currently has a staff of 25 associates, including Registered Professional Engineers (22 states); Registered Land Surveyors (5 states); Licensed Architect (2 states); 7 Certified Professionals in Sediment and Erosion Control (CPESC); 3 Certified Flood Plain Managers (CFM); and 6 Certified Erosion Sediment and Storm Water Inspectors (CESSWI). Four of our Project Managers each have over 15 years of experience in shopping center design, permit acquisition and due diligence. Two of them have over 25 years of experience.
BFA's responsibilities on projects have ranged from conceptual development to project planning, design, permitting, and construction. We have experience working with transactional attorneys, public relations firms, architects, artists, etc. to obtain permits for projects in sensitive areas. Therefore, BFA is adept at assembling and leading a project team as well as simply being a part of a larger team. In either case, we work closely with all parties to protect client's liabilities and keep the project on schedule and within budget.
BFA's collaborative relationships with our clients and sub-consultants allow us to efficiently and effectively meet our client's needs. Our ability to develop these relationships offers our clients a business value they will not experience using other consulting firms. We have a reputation among our clients for meticulously monitoring project schedules, costs and liabilities. BFA tends to get our clients most difficult projects, with the understanding that we have a proven record of delivering our product while alerting the client to possible risks associated with the project.
